Description

Edit: Closed: All horses have found good homes :)

Draft horses are generally a highly local phenomenon- a certain breed will be highly popular in one region (generally where it was developed and is best adapted to working the soil) and almost non-existant in others. Clydesdales are one of the exceptions, being popular all over the world for their flashy appearance. The most common color for this breed is bay sabino, and bay sabino animals with even white markings tend to sell more than clydes of other colors or markings of similar conformation, training, etc. The reason for this is that the color is considered flashy, and if the markings are even they make for the most impressive and popular matched hitches. Since perfectly even markings are caused developmentally and not genetically, there are always lots of variations on the "Budweiser Clydesdale" theme available for a lower price without necessarily being of lesser quality. We've bred/found a few over the last couple of years that we'd like to offer for sale, you are welcome to try for as many as you would like!

FFS Chocolate Rain [link] managed 2nd place in her first show, FFS Nyan Cat [link] is as of yet unshown but showing potential in training. Offspring of these horses will likely have potential in driving, but can be trained in anything you'd like. Our timeline is quite fluid so age the foals however quickly (or not) as you'd like. None of these guys have docked tails, we keep them trimmed up to the end of the tail bone to appease judges who prefer the docked look. They may be grown out if you prefer to do so.

1) Bay "Sabino roan" maximal sabino with wrapped face
FFS Chocolate Rain x FFS Nyan Cat
The roan appearance is actually caused by the sabino gene, this horse does not carry roan, and roan does not exist in the breed.
Bids:

Winner!

2) Dappled Bay Sabino
Bay mare x FFS Nyan Cat
This horse appears to have tobiano markings but both parents tested negative and the color is not present in the breed, so it appears to just be an odd expression of sabino mimicking a tobiano flank ribbon.

Bids:
Winner!

3) Chestnut Sabino with large belly spot
Bay mare x Bay Stallion
Chestnut is not a popular color for Clydesdale, but it still exists in the breed and is permissable in the US registry. Because it is recessive it is more difficult to "breed out", which is why you still find it popping up unexpectedly in breeds like Clydesdales and Fresians, despite being rare and unpopular.

Bids:
Winner!

4) Black Sabino
Bay mare x Bay Stallion
This guy is not only black but has one short leg marking. He is often mistaken for a Shire, and is slightly taller and more robust than the average Clyde making it an easy mistake.

Bids:
Winner!

5)Black Maximal Sabino
FFS Chocolate Rain x Bay stallion
This horse looks like it is greying out, but it never will because it is not grey, but black sabino with amazing amounts of ticking.

Bids:
Winner!

To adopt- full body pic, colored please. Up for bid for one month, when I choose the winners, any unclaimed after that come back to me or become first come first serve. These guys were made using [link] by *JNFerrigno, who is among the awesomest people in existence for making things like this. Choose your own sex, age, personality, etc.
