After the fire, Malachite was lost.
She was pretty sure she was in some strange spirit realm and not the real world; she had followed the Tokota too far. She stumbled around, head spinning from the leftover smoke. The Tokota and her "Meelanik" spirit had disappeared into the haze.
With her head spinning, she couldn't tell what direction she was going or how long she spent reeling.
