Some Fuzzy Babies

Description

What's this? Babies already? Most irregular!

Chocolate Winds foaled early in the season, and Bos almost at the end. Despite this, the sabino bay and the tobiano bucksin remained close to the same size throuought their first year, though the drum obviously has some growing left to do! The difference in age did nothing to disuade their foals from becoming the closest of chums. We hope they will take it alright when they are seperated as adults!

The Big Boss Man
"Hugo Boss"
Golden Buckskin Tobiano
Drum Horse (Gypsy Vanner x Clydesdale) Colt
Estimated adult height- 19 hh??
Bos x Malow

This boy has a certain bearing about him. It isn't that he's not affectionate, but he is proud and powerful. Look at his shoulders for goodness' sake! So far he is easy to manage and laid back, though he could easily boss around the smaller foals (aka all of them) if he so chose. He'd be fantastic as a parade or show horse, or at driving. He's got his mother's energy and striking beauty, and his father's elegant carriage and relaxed attitude. We couldn't have hoped for a better outcome. With luck (and not too much of it at that) he'll get their almost unbelievable volume of hair and feather as well.

DID YOU KNOW: Feathers are a recessive trait, which is why most draft crosses are featherless. For this reason Drum Horses are only registerable if they are from Clydesdale, Shire, Freisian, or Gypsy Vanner stock, to preserve the characteristic super heavy feathers. They must be at least 1/8 Vanner, and no more than 7/8 any constituent breed.

Chocolate Rain
"Loud"
Loud bay sabino
Clydesdale Filly
Estimated adult height- 16.2 hh
Chocolate Winds x First Morning Wind

This girl is loud. Did we mention loud? She's also loud. She is social, vocal, and wow did that sabino come through on both sides. You could mistake her for a patchy roan if you hadn't seen her sire and dam. She is sweet and affectionate and a lot like Belle, though less timid. She likes hanging around with horses who are larger than her, so after her first growth spurt she started keeping company mainly with the mares and Boss.

DID YOU KNOW: Virtually all shires and clydes are homozygous for sabino (it is responsible for the consistent high leg white, face white, pointed leg markings, and white on the chin or jaw), and in the past "loud" sabino was the desired Clydesdale color. With the introduction of the Budweiser Clydes, many more people began breeding for matched teams, selecting for the more standardized minimal sabino expression you see in most Clydesdales today, as they are both flashy and easy to match.
