Grinning Cat's Dog and Pony Plus Show: Tent Pegging

(This is a silly entry, I was just having too much fun with it to make it serious. No need to post the score rubrik for it, lol)

Much like mounted archery, tent-pegging is a sport that Richard enjoys but that he's really not all that good at. Robin's teenage niece Meadow was in town for a few weeks over the summer, and she worked with him a bit on it. Sadly she is too young (and for most of our warhorses, too short) to compete, but she will be soon. We expect she'll be much more active in our stable when that happens.

They started with large targets like wooden shields and worked their way down to soccer balls, then wooden rings, then grapefruits, then lemons. While Richard's performance still wasn't completely reliable, it got a lot better. And Darcy got much more used to having wood splinters and fruit innards fly around his head when Richard overcompensated and smashed something he was supposed to be picking up or knocking over.

Whatever happens, it is a valuable learning experience for both of them!
