Details

Appearance:

Not the tallest, but quite big-boned and wide-framed. Can frequently be found grazing near Glenmore and Silverthorne to keep up his mass. His rack, to his great delight, was among the largest of all his yearmates when it grew in his fifth year. It appeared as a spiked club, and was extraordinarily heavy. As he has aged it has spread to become wider and even spikier. To accommodate, he has developed a very thick neck and tends to carry his head low. His specialty is a sweeping low blow with his rack that lends itself to snapping knees and necks.

Rack progression: Here

Personality:

A dull-witted stag, Brutus may have used his head as a club a few too many times in his early years. The hammer is the only tool in his toolbox and his club-like rack makes that metaphor particularly literal in his case. He is friends with a few warrior stags who appreciate his skill in a fight, but overall the herd consider himunnecessarily boorish and intellectually unimpressive and don’t care for his presence. He is typically found with the otherwarriors or ranging near theGlenmore or Silverthorne borders. For whatever reason, he quite mistakenly thinks he’s charming and roguish.

History:

In the season of rut after Brutus's birth, his mother was hit with a possession spell from a powerful shaman doe who had a grudge against her over some real or imagined slight. The spell may have been overpowered or combined with a hex- he never was able to find out. As a result of this botched spell, his mother was brain-addled and completely incapable of reasoning or planning for the future. Even as a newborn Brutus could tell his mother was useful as a source of food and little more.

Once he was fully weaned off milk he abandoned her, choosing to attach himself to a small group of soldiers. They found him amusing and, seeing the potential for him to become a massive and violent purebred soldier himself, allowed him to share their grazing enough to stay alive and not stunt his growth.

Dealing with his mother gave him the impression that all does were useless and weak-minded. Being raised by soldiers, he didn’t meet another doe until he was around three years old and he treated her like the fool he assumed she was. Sadly this doe was a powerful witch and did not take kindly to insults even from a foal. She lay a curse on him which, though now long faded, left a lasting impression on him.

Aspirations:

He’d love to charm a pretty little Glenmore doe into maintaining a little patch of grazing just for him and he’d take care of her and she’d be his mate and love him forever. This is a secret desire as he fears others would mock him for, and so he will never ever share it.

He aspires to someday be General, but even he is smart enough to understand he doesn’t have the brain or the tactical thinking for it. Even so, he daydreams of having a position of actual authority where other fawnlings look up to him or at least pretend to like him.

He'd love to be chosen to be a raider, but he fears he'll never have the speed for it.

He agrees with the herd’s desire to take over territory from the other herds, both to cleanse the land of the heretics against Uir and to gain some improved grazing lands. He’d love to mount a campaign immediately but concedes that the herd doesn’t yet have the necessary numbers. He’d be happy to produce some crossbred babies to become future soldiers towards this cause. Said babies must be raised in Blackwood, so they can get the proper education to love Uir and understand her master plan for the herd.

Fears:

He knows he's not the brightest bulb, so he feels he must be doubly strong to compensate. He fears injury or age taking his strength away from him. He avoids anything that might cause anyone to view him as weak.

Any unfamiliar doe could be a Blackwood doe or an Illusionist doe in disguise. Unless he's damn certain he's not about to get cursed he tends to avoid does that he doesn't know.

Secretly likes foals and enjoys playing with them. Is afraid someone will find out and view him as less manly for it.

Potential RPs:

Sneaking into Glenmore/Silverthorne borders for the grazing, skirmishes with guards/soldiers or attempting to charm some does while he's there
Inadvertently spreading the otherwise incorrect stereotype of Blackwoods being big old bullies
Friendships with other Blackwood Warriors
Join a small band of roving warriors, maybe take a young fledgling warrior under his wing
Run away from does like a sissypants
Fights and training!
Being a follower/lackey in other fawnlings' schemes
Plotting the takeover of the world!
